Does my child need to be toilet trained ?
Your child doesn’t need to be toilet trained before starting at preschool. If you child is using nappies or pull ups, then please ensure that you provide, wipes, nappy sacks and clothes - these should be in a bag which is named on the outside.
What happens when my child is potty training ?
We will work with you and your child; you can either bring a potty in or we can encourage your child to use the toilet (which are very little!)
Does my child have to wear the uniform ?
No, this is entirely your choice – we have found that wearing the same tops as other children and staff can help some children to settle more quickly. We have both new and ‘preloved’ uniform to buy.
Do you provide dinners ?
Children bring their own packed lunch to preschool – we do not have the facilities to prepare full meals.
What kind of food is offered at snacktime?
Snacktime will always include at least 2 fruit / salad veg option; we also offer items such as toast, breadsticks, crackers, cheese etc. The children can choose either water or milk to drink.
What happens if my child has a food allergy or intolerance ?
Please ensure that you include all details on the registration paperwork. We will discuss this with you and take the necessary action.
What should I do if my child is ill ?
If your child has sickness / diarrhoea then you must not come back to preschool until 48 hours have passed since the last bout – this is to stop the spread of infection within the group. If you child has been prescribed anitbiotics then they need to have taken the medication for 48 hours before returning to preschool. If your child has a temperature, then this should be at normal levels without
the use of medication before coming back to preschool. Please let us know if your child is not at preschool due to illness.
Do you offer Breakfast, Lunch or After school clubs ?
We are unable to offer Breakfast club at the present time. We will offer a Lunch club when space permits; and After school if there is sufficient demand. We are unable to offer holiday clubs.
Do you offer a discount for siblings ?
All children are charged the same fee.
Can I park on site ?
The school grounds are closed to all vehicles other than staff, please park in the surrounding roads and show consideration to the residents. If you or your child has mobility difficulties then please speak to the Preschool Manager so that alternative arrangements can be made.
What do I do if I have a complaint?
In the first instance, concerns can often be resolved by talking them through with the appropriate member of staff, preschool manager or the committee. Please speak to us if you have any concerns as we can normally sort out issues straight away. If however, you are not satisfied with the outcome then please see our Complaints Procedure and speak with the preschool manager.
